My Experience

As much as I’ve been playing around with all these new AI tools, I’m still a tenderfoot when it comes to understanding how it all works, but I can tell you that I’m amazed at what I’ve learned so far. I have barely scratched the surface in my exploration of these websites and I’ve only used the trial versions but so far, I have to say ChatGPT is the closest thing to dealing with an actual human and the best tool for writing. Midjourney seems to produce the best artwork, though there are many others that are very close in quality production. I’ve found, and you will too if you plan on playing around with these awesome tools, that the output is all in the prompt. The more specific information you put in your prompt, the more you will get what you’re wanting.

Conversation with ChatGPT

Here is a conversation I had with ChatGPT about writing an article on St. Patrick’s Day and March Madness. Yes, this thing responds to you like Siri or Alexa!

Me: Hi there, how’s it going today? ChatGPT: Hello! As an AI language model, I don’t have feelings or emotions, but I’m always ready to help you with any questions or tasks you have. How can I assist you today?

At this point, I do need to post something on my blog, and I’ve got some ideas, but I’ve got a million other things going on and time is the devil these days. It’s the first rounds of March Madness—damn it, forgot to do my bracket! One of the million things! ☹ It’s the first time since the 90’s that I haven’t filled out at least one bracket. Oh well; I digress. With no time to write a full blog post like I’m doing now, I log in to ChatGPT to help me get the ball rolling.

Me: Could you fill in the body content based on my H2 headings with 3 to 4 sentences each paragraph? The article is celebratory, as it is St. Patrick’s Day 2023 and March Madness has just begun! The upsets have already begun! The article should also be informative and “mostly” true. I’ll add my touches. ChatGPT: Certainly, I’d be happy to help you write an article for St. Patrick’s Day 2023 and the beginning of March Madness. Let’s get started!

Within seconds, this robot starts spitting out words faster than I can read them and by the time I’m finished reading the first section, I realize that it started before I gave it the parameters I wanted. This is what it had generated when I clicked the STOP button.

ChatGPT: St. Patrick’s Day 2023: Celebrating the Luck of the Irish Today marks one of the most festive and celebrated holidays in Ireland and around the world – St. Patrick’s Day. This day is a tribute to Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who brought Christianity to the country and is said to have used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity. People of Irish descent and those who simply love the culture often celebrate with parades, feasts, and wearing green. This year, March Madness has added to the excitement with its tournament coinciding with the holiday. March Madness Begins: The Madness of Upsets March Madness is a college basketball tournament that takes place every year in the United States. It’s a time when fans across the country come together to support their favorite teams and root for underdogs to pull off big upsets. This year’s tournament has already seen its share of surprises, with several lower-seeded teams winning games over higher-seeded opponents. As the tournament progresses, anything can happen, and the excitement builds as the stakes get higher. The Top Teams to Watch: Favorites and Sleepers There are always a handful of teams that are expected to go far in the March Madness tournament, and this year is no exception. Gonzaga, Baylor, Michigan, and Illinois are among the favorites to win it all, but there are also several sleeper teams that could make a deep run. Teams like Loyola…

I stop it from typing. Not because I know that Michigan and Loyola are not even in the tournament, but so I can give it my parameters. It’s okay if the output isn’t completely accurate—I will change that when I edit it. And yes, ChatGPT’s interface has a STOP button, so I click it and start typing myself.

Me: Sorry I stopped you but I need to give you my headings. H1: March Madness, H2.1(Introduction)March Madness, H2.2: My Madness, H2.3(Conclusion)Did Somebody Say Mattress? I’m pooped! ChatGPT: Certainly, here’s a revised version of the article based on your headings:

What Do You Think?

Pretty amazing huh? I thought so but I’m easily amused too, so… Anyway, to sum up this article, I would have to say that ChatGPT and me will be best buds from here on out. That is, until they take over the world as predicted in The Matrix. I’ve always had an open mind about the AI world takeover scenario and now it’s becoming more and more evident that we… Drumroll…Cymbal… are already in the matrix! Please subscribe to this blog (free with no requirements) to read my version of ChatGPT’s final output (shown above).
